That could take a while to post every engine that I have in my collection. I don't even have a total count as I just got 2 big boxes of engines this week alone........ I have an incurable disease

Well there is 112 in this storage bin.
I have 4 more bins full of this size of larger engines and a metal shelf stocked full of engines.

Re: cox and non cox engine collections
I don't collect engines and have no fancy display stands. I simply prefer to run them and display them in the front end of a plane. When I bought a tach I tried to document their performance, and especially the weight compared to the power is something that is quite revealing I think. Here is small list of some engines and data (I have at lest one of each engine). I can post pictures too if anyone is interested...

i saw that post, it looks like a great engine i would pay $30-$50, i would have to see the inside and other parts to be sure that the engine does not need cleaned on the inside or need replacement parts, it might be worth more to someone else as i dont have any model boats but just love to collect fine engines to repair and get running
hope this helps

Re: cox and non cox engine collections
At a certain point you stop counting, I guess maybe that's when you know you're done collecting. I'd have to say between all the Coxes, Atwoods/Hornets, Cubs, Wen-Macs, Foxes, K&B, Gilberts (not really 1/2a), McCoy (real) & Andersons...I'd guess and say 250 complete to 350, including incomplete or parts engines.

Got to love my "Left-on-a-Doorstep" engine ! The battered, broken-shaft OK Cub that I found in my mailbox at work !!!

The OK Cub was my first engine. I got it used, mounted in a Scientific "Little Bipe". It has the backplate tank like yours. I still have it, although it has a new piston/cylinder. They had no size marking on them although they were .049's. For that reason, they were just called OK Cubs. When the .074 came out it had .074 on the case.

As far as I can tell, there are three attitudes regarding planes and engines:
The modeler who regards the engine as a device that makes his airplane fly.
The modeler who regards the airplane as a necessity to allow him to see his engine fly.
The modeler who enjoys both tinkering with the engine and the airplane its flying.
Which category are you in?
