Sig Fuel Availability...Ordered on the 21st...the 25% Champion Got Here Today, the 30th
Just a note to say that my recent fuel order from Sig came in very quickly, so this might be the time to check them out.
This was an order for all-castor, with 10% Nitro, so the 1/2A stuff will still need to be checked out. Seems like I was told at some point that Sig's "Fuel Guy" tends to mix up inventory batches at a time, so figured he might have done other types also.
Anyway, I ordered six quarts (this size avoids Hazmat Shipping Fees) on Monday and received them today.
Total with shipping to my place here in S.E. Missouri was $93.31, so I'm set for a while with my assorted Foxes and others.
Just for you guys' info.

That's good to hear.
Clicking on this thread, I expected to hear the opposite considering all that is going on these days.

Yeah, it's definitely a thought.
And, after thinking about it for a while, and even though I don't really need it at this point, I decided to go ahead and order some 25% Champion for the little guys.
With shipping, it came out to a few pennies shy of $15/Quart. We'll see if it can keep the same schedule as the 10%.
For sure ought to be stocked through Fall S.M.A.L.L. 2022.

Hazel Sig's 100th Birthday!

From where Kim is at in Missouri from the Sig Mfg. plant in Iowa, probably is a fast drive down the same interstate?
For me, I'm a straight drive east on Interstate 80 from Ottumwa Iowa to Chicago.
By the way, last week I received an email from my Aussie friend about a contest.
Here is his email pasted here:
Hi guys,
I am not sure if you in the USA are involved and the instigators, but I think you might be.
Anyway, the President of our MAAA (read AMA for you) wished us all well and said we need to
celebrate Hazel Sigs 100th birthday on 26/27 Feb (actually 3 March).
So being the sort of guy I am I have ‘organized’ our Club - 40 odd members some only heli.
I have, as a result, made 20 SIG Flip glider kits, for a build on the field, and mass launch.
Plan are attached in case you don’t know of it.
There will be certificates for ‘doers’ to commemorate the event.
The kit is so complete it, I've included Pixy Dust, Ca glue and a dihedral gauge!
I also built a Thermal Delta Dart and a photo of my scratch built 1 hour job is also attached.
Regards from Oz,
Allan Laycock

Got a note from Becky at Sig, saying there will be a delay of 2-3 weeks on 25% Champion Fuel, and asked if I wanted to do a back-order.
I affirmed, and will check back when something happens.

Re: Sig Fuel Availability...Ordered on the 21st...the 25% Champion Got Here Today, the 30th
Here's a photo of the pick-ticket from my last Sig fuel order "Valentine's Day" 2018..
The quarts of Champion 25 and 35 are for my Cox and Norvel engines. I'd wanted some of Sig's castor to try custom-mixing some fuel-blends with a little more oil-insurance for certain vintage engines.
Those two Sig Champion blends have been my go-to fuel since the original Cox blends became scarce.. and eventually unavailable.

Just received a shipping confirmation from Sig, saying that my Champion 25% fuel will arrive this Saturday. Guess I should have held off travel plans for the weekend, but hope it'll be OK sitting on the back porch for a couple days!

And it arrives...
Got a Sunday delivery of the Champion 25% fuel I ordered on the 21st.
Don't know what everyone else's situation is, but it STILL may be a good time to order this stuff.

And they found your home Kim!? Sorta kidding. For a long time, I chased FedEx and occasionally UPS around my various neighborhoods. USPS not a problem locally, but nationwide they are leisurely.
For what I fly/test engines. I'm pretty well set with a full gallon and a couple of quarts. Glad to see people are keeping SIG in business.

Well, it's a reasonable question. When I first moved here, I guess my little county road was the last to receive a GPS Coordinate, because both UPS and Fed Ex would spend some time driving around the subdivision on the other side of the valley, looking for me.
Even now, when I occasionally have to call the taxi service to take me to town, I've spotted them on the far hill, driving slowly, and looking at mail boxes!
Just Life on my hermit hill.
