Thanks Lieven,
For better or worse I won it. I hope it actually arrives as the last item I ordered supposedly got lost in the mail. The weird thing about that was the tracking only said the label was created, but never accepted by the post office. Whatever, I got my money back.
My concern with this item is I won with the opening bid, I don’t want the seller to have sellers remorse.
Anyway now the work begins. I have a radio and servos, but what I really need is the clutch/flywheel assy. I don’t know what else I am missing until it’s in my hands, but I am sure there is more that I will need.
I do have a couple Tarno carbs that I think will work better than the throttle ring. More to come!

That's great Ron. I followed the end of the auction tonight and saw you were winning. I guess you'll power the car with a Teedee. To begin with, you have the heat sink with the car. I'll check what gears you will need. The gears for Teedee and Babe Bee power are different.

The Teedee I got for my Jerobee has a 10 teeth pinion and that corresponds with a 54 teeth driven gear.

Hey! It’s not a toy! It’s a precision machine designed for adults, it even says not for beginners on the box!
Sorry, I was rehearsing what I am going to say to my wife

Ok, that helps some, at least I know what to look for on the clutch. Yes TD power as that would be easier since that heat sink was designed around it. Thank you.

I certainly will Bob. I forgot I need one of those! I could certainly scare up a nice Babe Bee in trade if you want to go that route.

No, you cannot! Gears differ in size depending on number of teeth. Each pinion corresponds to a given axle gear as the distance between the engine axis and the rear axle is fixed. And second, the chosen combination for an engine set up depends on the revs that that engine makes. Don McKay knew what he was doing.

It’s in my hands now, better than I expected, it certainly is missing some things, but otherwise in good shape. The chassis damage is localized to that one area and will be easy to repair.
If anyone has any parts laying around I am all ears. The front wheel and entire clutch assembly is the main thing needed at this point. Not sure how the steering is supposed to work, pretty sure something is missing.
Anyway here are the pictures!

Nice Ron. Glad it arrived safely, and that it is in decent condition. But most importantly that you are happy with it.

Thanks Chancey. Yeah it should be fun as long as I can get the parts to run it. My little dead end street was newly paved this year and it would make a great track.

That looks excellent; with box and papers!! The chassis damage frightnened me but if you can see to repair it, that's great.
I recommend to replace the front bumper. The Alfa body is in good shape and you better protect it. You can get the standard white bumper or the later black Lightning 2000 bumper, that will fit straight on.
I see that you have the track rod but not the drag link. That's easy to make from piano wire. It looks like this. Don't take any notice of the Bolink name, the part is the same)
For the front wheels, The chrome ones that were standard on the top of the range Alfa come up on ebay but are hard to find. The wheel rims are part nr 614 and the complete wheel set and tyres is nr 618.
If your not fuzzy about originality, or to get the car going, mount some Lightning 2000 wheels with the oilite bearings. Allways mount hard sponge tyres (for asphalt) on the Teedee model and not the rubber ones. You will go straight ahead in corners. even with a Babe Bee powered model, you have to get off the throttle completely otherwise you go straight ahead.
Lightning 2000 front wheels:
Get the large body pins. They're easier to get on and off!!
Have you checked the number of teeth on the axle gear? It's written on the side. Then you'll need aluminium flywheel, clutch axle, weights, clutch housing and the small Sullivan tank that Bernie sells.
I have one request. Can you scan all the documents and the decal page so that Jacob can add them to the instructions page? That woud be nice, Thanks. Good luck with cleaning!!

Lieven,
Thank you for all the photos and info, the part numbers will be really helpful going forward. I checked my drive gear and it says 56 does that mean I need a 12 pinion gear?
Right now I am working with a Jorgen Anderson. He is the guy who runs the Jerobee blog. He said he will have a look in the spare parts bin. Don’t know what he will come up with, but it’s a start.
I’ll see what I can do about scanning those things. I don’t have a scanner at home so I would have to do it at work.
Ron
