I seem to attract problems. My Medallion 15 glo head measures 5 Ohms cold. It will glow OK with about 12 volts to draw 3 1/2 Amps. Obviously a bad glo head. The wire is crimped, and probably the crimp not good.

More serious problem. The plastic venturi housing is leaking around the big end. (next to the crankcase). When my Cox all purpose tool arrives, should I just tighten the front nut, or should I use a sealant? Or replace the plastic housing?

Do you see a crack on plastic carb body? If it is cracked then you must change it. If it didn't crack then need to be tightened by collet. If you have .15 tool then disassemble collet and smear a little silicone sealant into big end and reassemble it.

Sometimes they are repairable with a thorough cleaning and a binding of un-waxed dental floss and JB Weld.

But at the same time DON'T overtighten the collet either-this can cause the moulding to distort at the back end and become slightly oval rather than circular-which either starts a leak or makes your existing one worse...and if really overdone can cause it to crack or split along the crankshaft axis...
