2 More eBay Engines Saved...
I picked up the Black Widow on eBay and the seller threw in the helicopter motor as a surprise

That's a real early widow Travis. Sounds good you may want to store that spinner away as they are unobtanium.

Ron:
The BW spinner shown is the rubber-type available from Bernie. Notice the absence of a retaining screw in the center?.
Red anodized aluminum spinners are the ones that are "unobtainable".

Dave, you have that backwards. I just bought a red aluminum spinner for the Killer Widow the other day from Bernie.

Re: 2 More eBay Engines Saved...
Dave that is in fact incorrect.
The type Travis is looking for is.
The kind he needs is this
http://coxengines.ca/product.php?productid=384&cat=26&page=1
but in red not black.
What you are thinking of is this
http://coxengines.ca/product.php?productid=108&cat=26&page=1
notice the different shapes.
But what you say is unobtainable is in fact obtainable form Matt.

They are one and the same product. The spinner production Matt and I shared and we both have our own favourite anodizers.
The large red rubber spinners we have plenty in stock, as well as the small black rubber ones but the small red rubber ones are very difficult to find.
Bah, who cares? Black looks better anyhow

I suppose fabricating some kind of mold is out of the question?
Re: 2 More eBay Engines Saved...
No, not out of question. Just costs about $4,000.
Production run of 1,000 spinners would elicit a retail price of $9.95 each.
Production run of 2,000 spinners would elicit a retail price of $4.95 each.
Production run of 5,000 spinners would elicit a retail price of $2.49 each.
Anticipated time required to sell 5,000 of those = 10+ years.
Ergo: NGTH (not going to happen)
The black ones we got a crate full for pennies on the $ from the OEM Cox moulder who had an overrun from many years ago.
