I need a .049 Cox car engine for a GT40 tether car
I found a beat up Cox GT40 tether car that is missing it's engine.I have the gear drive that goes on the engine only.Please contact me price and condition of engine.

Oops, sorry. Didn’t mean to get your hopes up. The engine with drive gears I have is for my Corvette I was working on for the “ Cars are the Stars” a while back. I will keep a look out for one for you.

In the diagram shown above I need the entire engine.I do have the geared flywheel with the cooling fins.I have read that the crank is larger/stronger than the one on the Babe Bee .049 airplane engines.Has anyone used a standard Babe Bee engine on these tether cars?

David, I think I have what you need. This engine differs from a standard babe bee in that the crankcase nose is much larger diameter (.495")to fit the support plate. For some reason, the needle valve stem is also shorter. There was no drive plate on this engine when I got it. I put the pictured one on in anticipation of using it in an airplane. I don't know if it is even used with the flywheel.

That looks like the .049 engine's that are on my Corvette and Riviera.What do you want for it?

Nice boxed GT40 tether cars! I have a nice yellow GT40,but my blue GT40 needs a lot of repair too the body.Poor car was run very hard!
