Another Plane for this year's S.M.A.L.L. Fly-In
Copied from my Facebook Page.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I got a beautiful and reasonably calm morning to test-fly the Dynaflite "Butterfly", built by Breezy Hill Flyer, Darryl Wilson.
We lost Darryl last January, and some of us have adopted his planes with the intent of keeping them flying.
Billy will be flying Darryl's other Butterfly and his Cub, and we will have them out and flying on the Breezy Hill Flyers Memorial Fun-Fly to Darryl on Saturday, May, 4th.
The Butterfly, and it's smaller sibling "Piece of Cake", were designed as powered sail and sport planes with fantastic glide ratios, meant for slow flying and thermal hunting.
The O.S. .25 that Darryl installed on it's nose pulls the Butterfly into the sky with "considerable authority" (like better than a 45º deck angle) at full power, and will probably be running around at about 1/8 power cruise most of the time it's in the air.
On the calmer days to come, this long-winged bird will be an absolute hoot, with some super low & slow flights around the field.
The two flights today went well, but the rising wind was starting to rock it around quite a bit, so I shut down to wait for better days.

Great photos Kim, the last one is a winner. Shadow and the guy on the right fits in.
Green, green, grass of home. Nothing like springtime to bring the green out.
Still mid-winter brown here but it's weakening.

Great pics Kim...that is what I call the RC modelers' freedom...vast open spaces with lots of green pastures to take off and land...presumably no aviation authorities to comply with as regards permitted sites to fly...you probably fly over your own land..I wish myself and all others here to have the same ideal conditions

Thanks Man!!!
Yes, I love it out here. Been here for twenty years now as a renter, which almost perfectly matches my life.
Other than the subdivision that popped up on the adjoining hill, I do have the place to myself. I HAVE backed off a lot on the gunfire, not wanting to spread angst among my neighbors, but still knock off the occasional groundhog...much to my landlord's delight.
I am one lucky dude!

I have seen videos of RC boats that go fishing. They are called bait boats maybe for legal reasons. Maybe a new hobby/sport? I have Lake Erie in my back yard, but have not gone fishing for probably 20 years. RC fishing? Maybe?

My RC "fishing" boat.
Actually had a winch that let the line out and in. Got crushed when my son shipped it back to me but I rebuilt it.
