Tee Bee wrote:I got the RR1 back together today and am very happy with it! The tank was spiffed up and re-anodized back to it's original blue. The backplate had some minor scratches, corrosion, and tarnishing so it was worked smooth again and polished to a mirror finish. With a new spinner, fuel line, and glow head, she was lookin' good as new. The guy who did the tank and backplate work wants it to run and fly, not just sit on a shelf. I intend to make good on that promise soon.
Is the tank has been de-anodized and re-anodized?

Re: Scored Some Goodies!
Getback, I sent the tank parts out to Oregon. I have an online friend there who does the work and specializes in small model engines. I can send you his contact info if you PM me for it.
Aungmyatoo, I'm not sure how he prepped the tank for re-anodizing. I've always trusted him to do his work without revealing his trade techniques. I've bought several engines from him and had him customize some others for me. All turned out beautiful. Here are some pics of his work including a Med .15, some Med .09s, a TD .049, and a highly polished TD .09. They are beautiful engines!

Well I hope I didn't trigger anyone. In the alternative, with some flywheels, cooling jackets and throttles, they'd really be cool in an R/C custom low rider version of a Cox Riviera.

USPS really came through! After having gotten some engines and parts lost and broken in transit last year, it's a relief to see things show up unscathed.

I always get a kick out of Victor's comments and this one is a gem.
If anyone has ever seen some of the beautiful low-rider customs coming out of LA, you will make the connection. It's a high honor compliment.
I love those engines Tee Bee.

Thanks! Considering that I took 7 Cox powered planes to the field and only got 3 of them into the air for various reasons, this was definitely the highlight of the day!
