I've got a slitted cylinder that has no relief anywhere for a wrench to take it off, is that right? Found it to be unusual.

That is unusual. I thought the wrench reliefs came long before the slit exhaust.

Yeah, I have one of those too. It had a bunch of pliers marks all over it when I got it but you can remove it by wrapping it in a piece of leather and then use a pliers to remove it.

I buggered it up when I was younger trying to get it off. I believe this came of my F-15

I see quite a few of them on QZ engines and are almost always duel bypass split exhaust. I think Cox was trying to compensate for the loss in power from the muffer. Just a guess. I have a piece of lead strapping I wrap around the cylinder after heating it up in front of a blow dryer.

Yes, I have one too, wrapped it in several layers of masking tape and used a pipe wrench to remove it undamaged.

I wish I would have saved my F-15. It didn't fly very well at all and was kinda cheezy built, but I liked the look.

I have a set of triple dipped (tool dipped) channel locks for that stuff that I dont want scuffed. Pick up the tool, clamp down, turn the item(s).

The F-15 was a horrible plane. It never had enough power to barely fly. I eventually took the prop off, broke the tab that restricted movement of the horizontal and flew it by swinging it around. Flew much better, but I got more dizzy as it flew better at higher speeds, LOL.

I have a brochure for their "fly 'em" series. Worth anything? I think it is from the 80's.

I'm sure it has value as some folks collect these models. Maybe worth a trade ?? for right person.
