Woah, that's a really good deal!
You know what they say "if the price is too good to be true, it probably is".

Yeow! That’s som spensive plastic!! If you shop a little bit, you can find you can buy a complete engine with tank, and save some money.

We had some new ones for $14.95 and we cringed at the high price but they did sell.
Re: In case you were looking for a Skycopter fuel tank
I paid $25 for a tank not long ago. I feel like I got a bargain now.

I can draw that up in 10 minutes in tinkercad if anyone needs one. I have a new tank here to get exact dimensions.

Jason, That would be great if you could make them. I could use several for the ones I have.
I'm sure you've seen his video of the tank supplying fuel as the engine is running when being hand held and filmed. Over on Facebook.

Re: In case you were looking for a Skycopter fuel tank
These were printed with the fuel nipples on top. The shape is perfectly round. The bottom first layer of the tank where the support is sagged a bit and had to be trimmed off.
These were printed with the fuel nipples to the side. Support underneath.
So the question better with nipples up or to the side?

Not that I need one, but is it not the same tank laying on its side? I do not have one, but I cannot honestly see a difference between them. If there is a difference, was there two different versions of the model?

I like the nipples on top. It looks like the tank was printed on its side. The outlets are rounder and a bit longer for fuel hose to attach to.

The tanks are the same configuration from what I understand. Just that one is printed on its side and one printed on its end. They would still mount in the aircraft the same way.

Re: In case you were looking for a Skycopter fuel tank
Some time back in the '70's, a friend's dad rented a unit in a industrial building near Warner Ave in Santa Ana, CA., not far from Cox manufacturing One day we were in the shop with the back garage door open and some young kids walked by in the alley with a half dozen or so of these Skycopters. I asked what they were up to and they explained they'd gotten them out of a dumpster down the way. We took a short hike through the industrial park and found the spot. Bumped up against the other side of a chain link fence behind a very large building was the dumpster. This was on a weekend and with no one around, so my buddy climbed over the fence and opened the lid. It was filled with them. Most were still in their boxes and looked new. We grabbed a handful and headed back to the shop.
Didn't take long to spot each one of them had broken fuel tanks where the fuel line attached. At this point we figured out these were returns at Cox . As a kid some twenty years earlier, I'd gone thru my share of Cox toys and what a surprise it was to now find where they were made. Luckily, replacement tanks were available for a buck or two and we now had basically new copters. These things were a blast to fly, as they went hundreds of feet in the air but if there was any kind of a breeze, they were history, disappearing into the neighborhood never to be seen again. We went back later and grabbed another dozen out the dumpster but eventually tired of seeing them fly away. I do remember spotting one months later on the roof of a house a block over from ours.
