My son suggested using a headlight lens polish kit to refinish the faded body on my C-196 Cox Mercedes.  After minimal effort. Works.

Did the front piece only as a test which was the worst of the three.

I don’t think the pictures do it justice. The nose piece looks real smooth, even colored, compared to the middle and rear section. I’ll have to keep an eye out for sales in the auto department. Thanks for sharing.
