Topic subscriptions, default?

How do I remove the default to subscribe/watch topics?

I keep forgetting to un-tick the box and end up getting lots of e-mails that I don't want to have...

Go to profile.
Then preferences and stop email alerts when someone
Posts in a topic
You have posted in.
If thsi does not help you then later I can post some some more in depth screen shots.

For me, Indra's solution did not help. I still get them.

To the upper right of your post, you will see the word "Actions". Click it, and a list of options will appear. Click "Topic(s) being watched". Then you can go to the right of each topic, check the box, then go to the bottom. You will see a bar that says, "Stop watching selected topics."

Done. Smile

You can also click "mark all forums read" which is on the homepage, for a temporary fix.

Thanks for the help, I had looked at the profile before but not looked in the right place. It is sorted now.

I can always come here for all the collected wisdom when I feel like it, without getting the e-mails...
