Tee Dee 09 just acquired
Today i acquire old , complete, but stuck TD09 by swap, (for some brushless electrics and props)
Got also spare glow plug , copper gasket, plastic venturi body and COX 09 wrench.
Will try soaking it in denat. alcohol, to try to unclog it .
Any suggestion for this process ?

Re: Tee Dee 09 just acquired
Hello , Will the engine turn over by hand ?? If it want may want to use some Hair dryer heat to warm it up , have a prop on it so U can try and turn the engine over put a couple drops of oil in the cly so not to bee dry! With the glow off if it don't turn over freely I would dismantle the engine completely and clean thoroughly ,,, we can go in to that if needed !! ,, remove the needle and clean the spray bar by pressure and solvent like Carb. cleaner (TRY AND NOT GET THE PLASTIC CARB BODY. CLEANED WITH THIS ) Let me know whats up . Re: Tee Dee 09 just acquired
Thank you for the tips, they worked, COX soaked for one night in denatured alcohol, and with some heat applied with hairdryer, dismantled, cleaned and after polishing some aluminium parts will be asembled, tested and put on a CL model, for new life.
Have just few more questions.
Brown textolite plate-gasket was porous and crunched. Do i need to replace it or just omit it , i do not remember that my old Medalion 09 have this textolite plate instaled.
Also, could be needle valve body "flipped" , to have fuel needle on top when TeeDee is side mounted on the model?

The washer even though beat up should still work. Obviously replacing it would be better. It could be omitted but it does keep the rod and crankpin from rubbing the backplate. Your needle valve can be flipped over and you would also have to flip the ratchet clicker over as well.

Re: Tee Dee 09 just acquired
Thanx, assembly just done, as you suggested ,Textolite washer retained till acquire or made new one, needle valve fliped. Dufuser and needle valve cleaned with compressed air.
Polished with aluminium polishing compound,
Slightly oiled with fresh fuel and asembled,
Black engine, needs black prop, Master 7x4 ,
After testing, Teed Dee will be placed on scaled down 30" TEOSAWKI .
Thanx for suggestions and comments,
RGDS
