Very cool advert, ahhh to be a kid in the '60's. Now how is running a babe bee not more fun than a stupid computer game?

18,000 rpm may be stretching it a bit.

It's fun to run a gas engine!!!!! Swinging a knife at 18,000 rpm. lol!

That package was printed long before folks sued anyone for spilling hot coffee.

Ah, the innocence of these old 50's & 60's ads! the kids are always your clean-cut All-American boys, having a hobby with Dad, always perfect families (You can assume Mom is in the kitchen, or cleaning the house, no sexism in those days!)
Thing is, I remember that era, and quite a lot of that was true!

I've done that if the motor runs the wrong direction, you can slow it down just enough for it to fire the other way.
