Newbies unable to post???
Why is it that new members allegedly can't post to the forum for 14 days.
We send someone over several times a week, if not daily but, if they can't post their questions ...

Re: Newbies unable to post???
I'm unaware of this issue. The only time limit I have set is for new members no allowed to posting links for 7 days.
We even have a sub-forum that guests are allowed to post in. https://www.coxengineforum.com/f9-general-questions-guest-posting-allowed
edit: I just disabled the new member link posting waiting period. If we get any abuse, I might reactivate it.

Re: Newbies unable to post???
Remember, new members MUST click on the link sent to them in their email to activate their account. The link should be sent to them immediately after registering. Misspelling your email address or having a bunch of spam filters set could cause issues with the confirmation email. I will always activate an account if I'm contacted for help.
As for a setting that could be limiting new members, I'm not seeing anything. I know the forum host occasionally updates the software and new settings are added without any notice.

Re: Newbies unable to post???
Remember as witness here and other web sites...there are a LOT of SPAMMERS out there
Web masters do NOT have many tools to keep them out of our space
Restriction on up linking is one such tool
set to zero invites a lot of abuse...IMO
New members... post a intorduction
Find topic of interest
Post a few observation, new content, or opinion
Rapidly become a full member with all privileges.....too easy....do not abuse the privilege... again too easy
