Cox Engine of The Month
Cox Harpy Eagle .049
Cox Harpy Eagle .049
I bought a Cox Harpy Eagle .049 engine from Matt, EX Model Engines. It look like Cox QRC engine. Firstly I dismounted fuel tank and back plate and repositioned fuel pickup line to the bottom of tank for free flying and RC use. Very good red anodized fuel tank, no flaws any. I found that backplate is made from very hard plastic. While I prefer metal backplates but that kind of plastic is sturdy. It is my first engine with new design muffler. In conclusion I am glad with this engine.

Looks like it would make a strong runner ! Does that muffler only have one hole for exhaust exit?? The colors stand out nicely too!

Muffler has one exit hole. Another hole can be opened at opposite and if needed can be closed with a machine screw.

Happy you like the engine!
The goal with this one was to customize it a little bit with some colors while installing a muffler since a lot of our modeling friends are unfortunately subject to noise restrictions in their areas.

I like that muffler good breathing, can use some thick wall K&S aluminum tube n thread one end with a die
and lock it down with two thin nuts for a exhaust extension. Can add a pressure tap too.
