I'm Back... again

I'm Back... again
I'm Back.
I got home about 8 or 9 Friday night. Though some of these with similar tiles have fallen flat, this time it appears permanent as long as I don't bust the other leg. My left Femur is screwed together with a compression plate and the Doc says the bone integrity is plenty strong. That was a major concern.
It still hurts bad when I walk on the walker, but I'm putting my full weight down and they say it isn't gonna break again. PT guy says I look like I'll be tossing the walker within days.
See y'all soon. Thanks for hanging in there with me.

Re: I'm Back... again
Aahh, good, so I did post an update. My mind is still fuzzy and I honestly didn't recall if I'd posted.
You surgical veterans all know how long it takes to get all the wheels back on the rails. I was so excited Sat and Sunday that I could put my full weight down on the left that I over-did it with my home brewed PT, in turn making my whole body feel hurt... I mean Hell-Sick terrible. That made Sunday evening and Monday miserable. Imagining the worst
But now that I've overcome that, and am feeling good again, I'll see the professional PT guy tomorrow and try not to show off anymore Lol... what-me, show off! And get on a less stressful regime of recovery exercises. I can start putting this all behind me again.
Thanks, friends,
Rusty
P.S. Ron, are you still coming to town this month? I'm hoping so. I'll fry you up a good Flounder dinner.

Re: I'm Back... again
Hey Buddy! WELCOME BACK!!! I'm so glad to know that the procedure went well! Please be careful.. and mindful of any "icy-conditions" outdoors. I know that you'll be heading out to your shop, as soon you're able... to start working on a sleek little model-airplane to fly in the 2018 CEF Speed Contest.. (hint hint..)
We got some snow up here this past Saturday.. about 6-7 inches. Ice has been re-forming on our slightly-sloping driveway... and whenever I walk to/from the car, I'm really careful.. and have thought of "you". I try to remember to lean forward a bit.. so if I fall; I fall forward.. and not on my ass.
All kidding aside; I'm mostly glad that you no longer have to worry about how this injury would play-out. Congratulations!

Re: I'm Back... again
PT is a two edged sword.... tendons and muscles must be constantly exercised to remain elastic and toned
BUT the underlying damaged bone structure absolutely needs TIME to heal
Follow PT guy/gal advise and do NOT do 25 extra reps/laps just cuz you think more is better......
Rest well and comfortable, eat well, my own back took over a year of daily PT and I am sure it would have been 6 months if I had followed my own advice.... to many days doing more than I should....not PT but just ornery stuff like 1.5 hrs with weed eater when I was actually worn out after 15 minuets
