TD_Bandit, Dave Fountain, had a very bad injury at work when he got knocked(I think) off a ladder and did an involuntary split when he hit the floor. He had surgery this morning, Friday, and is recovering now at a hospital in Atlanta where his Dad will look after him. He took a really bad hit and had to have a serious hernia and tendon/ligament damage repaired.

I'll update when possible.

Guys, I'm only posting this because I don't want you to worry too much. Dave is fine- I work with him, and I spoke to him right before he went into surgery and as soon as he came out. He did have a bad hernia ( for months ), it was outpatient surgery and he is resting and fine. He never fell off anything at work, he slipped picking his motorcycle up off the ground and aggravated the hernia which necessitated them moving up the operation. He'll be fine and he knows I'm right here if he needs anything, as always.

Thanks for the support everyone I greatly appreciate it. I'm up in Atlanta right now recovering at my uncles. I'm hurting pretty bad but i guess it goes with the territory. I'm currently doped up on pain pills so I'm somewhat goofy right now as I type this. I'm gonna miss the Ringmaster fly-a-thon unforchantly this year because of this mess so I hope you have fun and put up lotsa flights! I have descent internet up here so I can post more so i'll be floating around here at least till when I go back home. Anyway take care everyone and be safe! (Bandit)

TD B

Glad to here from Bad Bill and You

I loath the days on CEF when we hear a friend is in danger, hurt, sick, or dead

Take care and recover fully.... My post MC accident hernia freaked me out a lot until I got it fixed

Now every damned one of the ambulance chaser commercials on Defective Mesh makes me think about my now healed fix..

Well at least I am not on any of the drugs that causes anal leakage---or---sudden death..... grin

Lil Buggers....grrrr!
I remember being a bit evil as a child, but never did damage or destroy any property... just chicken chit stuff like ringing the doorbell of the grumpy old fart

Glad I outgrew that non sense

No chance these days of the mommy or daddy whooping the hide off the lil buggers....and certainly you dare not do it and if you do extract retribution do it very very covertly....grin

Now that I live very rural...non of this non sense....

Back when we were in Gvmnt quarters, for decades, I would have loved to have the video cameras we have today.....The damage to my new, and first, Harley FXR could have been recorded--- and eventually ----I would have been properly compensated...but as it was...I just had to fix the damned thing and grow ever more grumpy at ANY neighborhood kids

Dave, I'm glad to know that you didn't fall from a "height". I have a story.. a story I heard today since my last post. There's a fella in our locale who's probably in his late 50's early 60's who frequently rides a bicycle powered by a small two-stroke engine. I got to know him.. because I thought it was kinda' neat. He'd had some recent problems with it.. and last I knew; he needed a new engine for it. Well.. I saw him this afternoon at the liquor store with his bike and replacement-engine. We talked for a bit.. and he told me that he'd had an accident. He likes to frequent a shady-wooded spot down by a nearby river-lock, hang a hammock and drink a few beers. Apparently he had one-too-many one day.. stumbled and fell down on a sharp rock or piece of ledge. This resulted in a 5-day stay at the V.A. hospital and 37 stitches in his scrotum.  Damn!  (you can't make this stuff up..)

A bit graphic.......................... but I thought it might help you to look at the bright-side..  Smile

WHEW, glad to hear..all at one reading..that Bandit didn't do the splits and damage the family jewels. That hurts just to type it. It sukx that you had to move up the surgery, but you be glad to have it done, corrected and in the healing mode. Best wishes for a fast recovery!

Wow. Get well soon bud. Hope all is now well. Not that it is funny, but I was away for the past 48 hours, so just came on to check the posts since last visit. Well, I always scroll to the bottom and work my way up. So, I see your reply to my 'Followed Me Home' topic today and just replied. As I get to the top of the page, I now see this! Shocked But again, stay safe and heal up well. Your planes will be waiting for you.

Hey, guys, sorry my report was so embarrassingly off. I had a hard time understanding what he was telling me, and I guess I got his story all mixed up. It apparently wasn't even close to the facts. I don't know how the "ladder" part got into my thinking. Oh well, I'm glad Dave is doing well.
Maybe I have a hernia in my head.
Again, my apologies.
