Thanks for posting that Eric, When I was in the airforce we had a full bird Colonel that could take out f15s 16s and f5s all day long in simulated dog fights in his F4.

Maybe the F-35 really is the dog we've been hearing it is. That's seriously disappointing. I didn't want to believe it, but the more I read the harder it is to deny. Our McEntire Joint National Guard Base here in Columbia was due to receive a shipment of 35s, but so far all I see flying over my house are still F-16s.
China undoubtedly has no intention of letting us rebuild our manufacturing greatness, and they won't need planes and tanks to take our country away from us. They'll just repossess us. And maybe ships and submarines to back it up.
Happy Independence Day.

Oh.. C'mon Rusty... The Donald won't let that happen.
Seriously though......... I enjoyed reading about all those jet-fighters! (thanks Eric) One of the very few plastic-models I built in my life was of an F4 (J?) Phantom. My uncle was a USAF mechanic and worked on them in the early 1970's which was my inspiration for building the model.
Kress used to make a ducted-fan unit for the Cox Tee Dee. Imagine the model that could be built today using the sub-micro/feather-weight radio-control gear that's available... just sayin'..
This kit was for a Tee Dee .09
Here's a couple photos I found on the web of jet-models using Cox engines to drive ducted-fans.
Looks like a Tee Dee .051 tucked in there..
and a Babe Bee .049..
Extreme lessons in patience with starting the engines.. I'm sure.
