You know how it goes, you're watching YouTube videos and a suggested video catches your attention. I was watching some videos by shango066 who makes radio and TV repair videos when these "thrift store" videos came up in the suggested video list. He seems to be mostly looking for video game stuff which I don't care about, but I like to look at the crap in the background. I figured this would be the time that I see something I always look for when going through the thrift stores around here...and sure enough, take a look at what's on the shelf at 3:25.

As for shango066, I like his "resurrection" videos. He pulls radios and TVs out of dumps and abandoned buildings and tries to make them work with as little work done to them as possible.

Here's a few of them:

That's cool stuff Jacob! The 1st vid reminded me of a "Savers" (chain thrift-store) that's nearby me. It's a dept. store version of a Salvation Army outlet. It's in a space previously occupied by an AJ Wright (TJX) store, so it's good size. I've scored a few interesting things there. There used to be a small chain of stores called "Building 19" in Massachusetts years ago. They specialized in railroad-salvage. I found little tubes of Spanish-labelled Ambroid cement there one day. A new store; supposedly of this type, has recently opened in nearby Woonsocket, RI. They're advertising "Good Stuff.. Cheap".. which was Building 19's slogan.

Your vintage-electronics hobby I continue to find fascinating!
