Cox Engine of The Month
Tee Dee .010 black needle valve body?

Tee Dee .010 black needle valve body?
A fellow here in Finland has some old stock Cox parts, and I bought a few of them. Among them was a needle valve body for a Tee Dee .010 that I bought to replace the messed up one I had. Catalog number for this part is 1326. This is the body only, not with the venturi like in newer packages. I was surprised to find that the part was not only black in colour but also made of steel
I checked with a magnet and it sticks strong, unlike the aluminum one that just barely hangs on...
Here's a pic. The steel one also has a smaller fuel connector.
Now I am obviously debating if I should get the "correct" aluminium part or just stick with the steel one. The one that was on my engine has busted thread so that is not an option.
Was the steel one a "spare part only" version or an early model or something? Any info would be appreciated.

Re: Tee Dee .010 black needle valve body?
Kim, Are these questions asked and answers given out loud like around here?
Anyway, I think the guy has a couple of more of those black ones, if anyone is interested, let me know. IMO the ally one looks better but if you want to make an early Tee Dee .010 "period correct", then this would be feasible.
Price for me shipped was about 10€ each, shipping over to USA or wherever would be a couple of Euros on top of that. Please do note that these are unopened paper packages. My part had some very slight rust or maybe glue residue from the envelope on it, it wiped right off almost completely but with NOS parts this old there is always the possibility of some imperfections.
