small fuel filters for 1/2A
I'm looking at this page of Dubro inline fuel filters but they don't have any that claim to be small, like for 1/2A planes.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=dubro+inline+fuel+filter&_sacat=0&_odkw=dubro+inline+fuel+filter+large&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313
Any idea which if any of these are nice and light for my Tee Dee? Or a better place to search?
Thanks,
Rusty

Re: small fuel filters for 1/2A
Most of the time, you can manage to squeeze 1/2a fuel line over standard size fuel filters.
Plastic or aluminum would keep the weight down. Mine came in the remains of a Sterling PT-17.

Re: small fuel filters for 1/2A
Seems like Kim was using some small blue filters he said were disposable, but he reused them.
Re: small fuel filters for 1/2A
I'm hoping for lightweight, maybe this:

But if the plastic ones are unreliable I'll settle for a small aluminum one. One like yours would do the job.

Re: small fuel filters for 1/2A
Yeah...I've forgotten the name of those things...I did list it in a reply to to someone who saw them in one of my engine run photos or videos.
I'll try to find the package or record of who makes them. They ARE supposed to be disposable, but can be pulled apart and the debris cleaned from the "upstream bucket" side of the screen. I push them back together, and even with the oil from the fuel, they snap tightly and don't leak.

Re: small fuel filters for 1/2A
They will work if you use silicone fuel tubing regular cox tubing does not fit.
I use them on my nb16 rc car it has a 1/2a engine.

Filters
I filter fuel first, then have filter on fueler. 1/2 a I don't use inline filter and have not had any problems. Problem is filter s get clogged and might cause more trouble then they are worth. I am not against filters inline and we all do things different.

Re: small fuel filters for 1/2A
I don't know.
It can be useful having an inline filter as you can always change the foams.
Sometimes especially in dusty environments it is possible to get dirt and sediment inside the tank.

Re: small fuel filters for 1/2A
I did not get into this hoby at all yet.
I just thought it might be clever to make the fuel as clean as possible to keep the engines safe.
Am I at all right?

Here is a neat idea see-thru 3 way from Align, don't know what size the fuel nipples are,,looks pretty large.

Re: small fuel filters for 1/2A
I would need something like that if i wanted to run a geared twin off of one tank.
Re: small fuel filters for 1/2A
easy. take a small piece of plastic tubing, and stuff a tiny piece from a kitchen sponge into it, then hook it into the fuelRknRusty wrote:I'm looking at this page of Dubro inline fuel filters but they don't have any that claim to be small, like for 1/2A planes.
