One looks like #5 stripped down sparker, nice hot rod he has his foot on! also looks like two more crankcase and cyl for this engine.

Thanks for that CB.  Prompted me to do my own google search and came up with this.  He is using my new UK engine stand.

Lot's there about old ignition engines.

Looks like mine has a whole lot of missing parts and will never be much more than a looker.

Bought the lot for the sandcast Enya .29.  Need the parts from it.

I thought they were just wings and a turtle deck.  Better picture.

Lot of junk there, but some of the props are nice.  I would like to know what the long thing is at the extreme bottom of the second picture at top.  The whole kabootle was just $23 and change, but he's hitting $31 on the shipping.  A back-end guy. I really need parts from those two rather rare Enyas.

Guy in the picture holding some kind of 40's/50's combat special?

If you win, I would be more than happy to buy that speed pan, fuselage and wings off of you. It would re-coup some of your money.

It should ship from Iowa tomorrow Ron. Will let you know.

I look forward to going though that small box of parts etc. I just hope the rest of the Enya .29 is in there, but I have my doubts. I see so many engines missing the drive/prop washers and nuts. What's so hard about putting them back on.......

Just another pet peeve of mine.....That and tool marks. Oh I could start another whole thread on that. Showing my age. Smile

Cool Bob!

I hate tool marks as well. I think most of it is caused at the field during expedient repair work.

Of the used eBay Enyas that have seduced me recently, 2 .19s from different sellers had plier marks on the prop driver and both had the heads, pistons and con rods reversed.
It's my suspicion that both were disassembled/reassembled by POs with only the rod reversed, causing a bind that led to pliers-on-driver in an attempt to turn the engine over (which does NOT work), followed by a subsequent reversal of the rod/piston assy and head, which WILL allow it to turn but not run.
Maybe that's why they sold 'em. In any case, reassembled properly, both run just fine. Thumbs Up

That's great Terry, save those old Enyas!  Were they early examples with MADE IN JAPAN on the left bearer?

I have been buying from California-dan recently, picking off most of his bargains.  An Enya .45 C/L for $12.50, a McCoy series 21 .35 for $7.50, a Champion V2 plug NIB, and a few others.  Should be here this week.

http://www.ebay.com/sch/california-dan/m.html?item=381917055589&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562

Lot's of Cox engines in this batch.  I'm not a player.

Bob

OBTW...Nobody can ID that plane in the picture? I thought for sure one of the experts here would come up with something like - Sure, that's a super duper pooper scooper from the 1940's. I want to say the car is a 32 Ford, but will need the picture to verify. The hood does not match.

Right on the wings and turtle deck. Below that appears to be a bass bottom that is used with a "half pan". The speed pan is in the middle and should have the intended size if it is a Harters pan.

I would like to know what the long thing is at the extreme bottom of the second picture at top...

I believe that is a "quick link" originally used in RC then adapted to CL. The spring clip on the left is slipped over the control horn. The right side is usually secured to an arrow shaft or equivalent, and the screw threads make it adjustable for the servo or bellcrank. BTW, the clip on the left was originally designed for an IBM Selectric typewriter. The clip was adapted to modeling use.

George

Edit: Can't see the right side of the "quick link" very well. Could it have an adapter for monoline use there?

Thanks for the info George. All wil be known when the package arrives friday or saturday.

Wouldn't it be neat if the Vivell engine turned out to be the same one pictured on the plane held by the guy. Could be, lot's of black between the two ends just like the Vivell. But, I see no room for a coil or battery pack in the airframe.

Quite a few spark ignition engines of that era were converted to glow. I have not seen this applied to a Vivell but many others and often with similar performance but the advantage of less weight to be carried.

Got the big box today.  Nicely packed and shipped priority, may have been worth the $31 shipping charge.  Too bad he didn't include the wings to the pan.  Contacted him about it.  No reply yet.

Looks like they slipped in the picture as an after thought, maybe just wanted to keep it safe.  Anyone know how to clean a photograph?

Who is this good looking guy? Big_bo21

Sellers description:

This auction is for a small old lot of gas powered engines and airplane parts. You will get everything shown in the photos. Included are two different Enya 29 engines and a Vivell 35. Everything is used, no new old stock. Included is a photo of the original owner with one of his airplanes in front of a 1936 Ford.

Rod turned out to be all-thread with nuts on each end.

Who is this good looking guy? Big_bo12

Lot's of carburetor and float needles, only one needle for a model engine.

Who is this good looking guy? Big_bo16

Some usable props, a few quite interesting.

Who is this good looking guy? Big_bo18

Everything goes into the A/F pot.  I didn't find a NVA or drive washer.  Going to have to figure something.

Who is this good looking guy? Big_bo13

What I really wanted.  Both will be restored.

Who is this good looking guy? Big_bo15

This was cute.  The aero gloss jar contained a 4/40 tap and bit.  Already had them.  I was going to toss the jar, but this must be quite an early design for the label.

Who is this good looking guy? Big_bo14

Who is this good looking guy? Big_bo17

A Jim Walker regulator?  What are the black things?  Says Japan and has adjustments on both ends.

Who is this good looking guy? Big_bo20

A lupe on that picture shows that the engine probably is the Vivell and the spinner is one of the ones included in the auction.

Bob

Edit add, I heard from the seller. Ha on me. They were in a cardboard envelope that perfectly filled the bottom of the box. I hate those peanuts so I just scooped though them leaving them in the box.

Thanks Eric,  It's fun to watch these old sparkers run.

The Vivell's turned out to be a bust.  Almost everything there except the piston pins and connecting rods, necessary ingredients.

I cleaned them up anyway.  Interesting pistons.

Who is this good looking guy? More_g19

Who is this good looking guy? More_g18

Scanned ebay in a hopeless excursion to locate a connecting rod to no joy.  So I bid on this one and lost out to a sniper.  He brought his wallet, it didn't go cheap.

Who is this good looking guy? Vivell13

But, I did win this one.  Complete except for the tank.  But it does have a connecting rod and pin.  Maybe I can get a local machine shop to duplicate one for me.

Seriously, no one here can ID the model airplane?  Don't make me go over to R/C groups.... Smile  Or the Ford....hood is not original for sure.

Wow, Lieven, you nailed it.  Seller kept insisting it was a 36 Ford and I wasn't buying it.  How did you ever make the connection?  Smile  By this time Chevrolet was outselling Ford.

Thanks - Bob

PS - Google found it. I had been looking for 1936 Fords. Sad

Close, but I dont think so. The plane pictured and the one in the link have a different configuration in the fixed flap to elevator area I believe I can see. Now, I am not saying it isn't for sure, as it may have been built a bit differently from the plans.

If they are out there, I would really like to find the plans and mount that old Vivell on the nose.

Found one from a fellow over on RC Groups that I had bought from before. New in a broken down box.
