Vintage Yellow Shrike
Hi everybody! Been busy at work lately but really stoked about the yellow Shrike I scored on eBay The .049 was locked up tight. Cleaned it up but piston was rusted into cylinder. Got it apart and just replaced cylinder and piston with extra parts I had laying around. I wanted something different so I picked up an .049 Diesel and a pusher prop from Bernie. Can't wait to run it. I had a green one when I was a kid. Really enjoying this 1/2 A stuff. Having too much fun! Lol

WHOO-hoo, good for you!! Nothing better that having fun with Cox engines and stuff.
You'll have to post pictures or maybe even a video of that Shrike runnin' on diesel!

Thanks Marleysky! Got the engine mounted and my Davis 1/2A diesel fuel showed up too. So it's ready to go. Still working on the Dune Buggy too. Also looking for a project to use my MK17 Diesel on. I have more toys than time to work on them. Lol

Got the old Shrike fired up today! I ended up re-installing the original.049 with new piston and cylinder. Ran great! Looking for a red Prop Rod for the .049 diesel. Added a few more to the Cox collection. Picked up an orange Baja Bug, Sandblaster, and an Action Van. Guess I'm reliving my childhood with these at the ripe old age of 56. LOL
