Now that’s the way to turn in circles! I like your “Speedy McFeet” method of trapping the car! Just a little more balance and she’ll be flying in circles to empty the tanks. Great Job.

Oh man that was COOL!
Sure the video was a bit out of focus but still I was here, across the globe, with a grin from ear to ear I can just imagine how much fun it must have been ”in person”
I need to start scouting for a flat enough parking lot where I could try something like that!

Re: My money is on the table too.
Thanks everybody for the encouraging comments.
The repairs are all completed, front axle straightened and wheel alignment checked. I have some stick-on wheel weights I was going to put in the nose of the car but couldn’t find them so used motorcycle spoke wheel weights on the front axle instead. They almost look like they belong there.
Replaced the tether clips with the black swivel ones, rated 46 kg breaking strain.
Now it’s just up to the weather.
Note to self, remember to focus the camera

Re: My money is on the table too.
Well the weather and all the other elements required finally came together and we got a chance to run the car on the longer (6.5m) line. I remembered to focus the camera before filming but somehow got a setting wrong and the sun ruined the picture a bit but with the speed it was going I don’t think you’d have seen much more anyway. The inside wheels lift up off the ground once it’s got speed up. If you have trouble seeing the car look at the tether anchor in the middle and you’ll get some idea of the lap speed.
Not bad for a lolly tin.
I’ll run it again when I get a chance and hopefully get the filming right. Third time lucky they say.

Great, right down town too.
What do the tires look like after a run like that?
I would play with it for awhile then apply new wheels and retire it to look at and enjoy mode. I think it's a beautiful thing.

My sentiments exactly Bob. Another couple of runs and then clean and park it.
Maybe build a faster one

Re: My money is on the table too.
This project needs and demands an annual resurrection just to try and force some CEFer to copy --meet ---or beat this well conceived and completed project....
and quite frankly many of our members need to seriously consider low volume production and sale of some critical components
The iron weight can be had at almost any academy or other sports store (dicks, etc) hell even wal mart... BUT the very cool adapter and ball bearing circle tether mount is worth quite a bit to me....
Jest saying

Re: My money is on the table too.
Thanks Fred. I plan on giving it one more run if for nothing else other than getting the camera focus right.
Then shelf queen it is.
