Model diesel fuel is much more aggressive than glow fuel.
For flexible fuel line, use only neoprene. Silicone tubing should not be used because it swells up in contact with diesel fuel, though you should get by using it for a day if you are prepared to replace the tubing. Ordinary PVC (vinyl) tubing can be used where flexibility is not needed. It will become stiff after prolonged contact with fuel.
Surgical tubing is made of natural latex. This material is rapidly decomposed by diesel fuels. Same with ordinary balloons.
The "rubber bungs" in clunk tanks are usually silicone and swell. Special bungs have to be fitted for diesel and petrol.
Surgical tubing is used with diesel but replaced every day. Forget and you will end up with a gooey mess. Also be careful at the pinch off points. Inspect - any sign of stickiness - REPLACE.
