Space Bug piston (DOMED) ???
Hello space fans > I have this that I picked up some time ago and is the piston domed looking on this animal or has someone messed it up from the other side ? I cant get the piston out gets tight at the skirt an I don't want to force it ....... well no pic for now Also I need a tank assy if someone has one they would be willing to part with Thanks Getback

If removing from the top of the cylinder it should stick.
That looks to me like someone may have tried to do a reset.

It is hard to tell from the picture if that piston is domed, but I am inclined to think it is not. I have noticed that some of the older pistons have serrations that would be in the area that looks domed in your picture. I think the only way you would know for sure is to remove the cylinder, and take the piston out from the bottom. Andy

there is another pic it don't appear to be damaged , just never seen one before the cly don't want to come off and is in good shape I am not going to mess it up for no reason I am sure you understand.

It shouldn't be domed whatsoever.

The cylinder of that vintage should be tapered, so it will not come out the top. Out the bottom only.
I don't see the dome, I do see the discoloration in a ring manner that could indicate a contour. Maybe a pic from directly sideways?
