I would have liked to hear the engine singing at 28000rpm...
Is that the ABC version of the conquest?

Will post a unedited cut when I get a chance. Not sure if it's ABC or not, I'm sure old dad has that answer.

Hey Surfer
If your conquest is a K/B version it is good up to about 26K with the iron P/l .
The ABC versions are good well past 30K . K/b versions will have a serial # on
left side mounting beam .22% castor and good bearings and you can CRANK IT UP
Nothing on earth sounds like a Conquest at 28K on a Minipipe

I have only one and it's the K&B version. It has a low comp head on it now. If I run a button head can I expect to see 26K?
It's the CL version and I am not sure if it differs from RC.

I have two engines, one of the older ones and one from K&B. Even with the muffler and a 8x4 prop it beats other .15 engines easily...

Hello Cribbs 74
To get those RPMs u must run crankcase pressure a large venturi, and small props 6.5 or 7 inch with 3.5 to 5 pitch. If u want a ready to SCREAM Conquest it cost MUCHO $$$$$ but if u are interested let me know .Brand new hand built engines ARE avaliable .Built by THE EXPERT on conquest.15 .40 YEARS building and racing ONLY conquest .His engines sell for 300.00 and up but turn 29000 to 30000 RPM

Re: Conquest powered Cosmic Wind/ Electric to GLOW conversion HA!
I just had a look at my 2 engines. Both have nipples for crankcase pressure use. One also has a larger venturi. The hole in the nipple is much larger as well.

Hey overlord
Look like u have a engine that has already had some work done on it .
If it is a ABC engine u may have a engine that was a Ron Young modified Conquest .
The machine work on the cooling fins is one of his trademarks to make them fit inside tight cowled QM 15 planes.
Try a magnet on the piston to see if its iron or aluminum.

Re: Conquest powered Cosmic Wind/ Electric to GLOW conversion HA!
Yes it is aluminium Tim. And with the chromed brass liner. I checked the pressure nipple and it's not drilled.
The other one has an adapter for a standard glow plug and doesn't have the fancy spinner, just the shaft and nut like on the RC versions.

Re: Conquest powered Cosmic Wind/ Electric to GLOW conversion HA!
Thanks Tim, for the info. The glow plug with the round head is made by Rossi I presume. Do you have an idea what grade of plug that should be? The plug on my engine is dead. I'm going to send a mail to Ron Young for some détails and spares. Thanks again.

Hey Overloard
Ron has a clamp ring head and button that takes a Nelson style plug.
Merlin glowplug 1125a hot nelson style to fit a standard glow driver works very well.
you can order direct from Merlin on their website

Re: Conquest powered Cosmic Wind/ Electric to GLOW conversion HA!
Last week I received the parts I ordered from Ron Young. I got the clamp ring and the Nelson plug. He is very helpful and ready to give advice. He's got many Conquest parts and I reccommend dealing with him.
