WTS: Futaba 4YF radio
Futaba 4 channel fm radio. Like new, installed in Q-Tee and flown once. Never crashed, just prefer control line.

Hey, I like your new Corsair avie.
Hooked on C/L, eh. Had you ever done it before you met up with us here at CEF? You got good at it in a hurry.

Re: WTS: Futaba 4YF radio
I went for a run with my girlfriend this afternoon and at the park on the way back a guy was flying an RC electro foamie glider. She says " look how serene that is, would you do that?". I told her just put my radio up for sale and I enjoy the noise of engines.RknRusty wrote:Hey, I like your new Corsair avie.

Thanks for the compliments a Rusty. I played around with a ill' wizard and a ill' satan back n the late 80's but best I could do was a loop. Destroyed a scratch built lil' bit and baby ringmaster (who names these planes?) on their first flights attempting outside loops in the mid 90's. About three years ago I bought a Estes/cox y wing kit for my son. My first post here was asking why the standard plug conversion head I was not enough to fly the plane. It wasn't until I saw your stooge I realized I could practice by myself and I built some skills. Thanks.
By the way, #94 on the bottom of my avitar is my subject for the speed contest.

If there are some good, clear hills near you facing the prevailing wind consider slope gliding. Check out dynamic soaring on Youtube.
I am surprised, that radio can be had new still

Re: WTS: Futaba 4YF radio
I've got this radio with the R114F micro RX and x2 S3114 servos. (Park/slow-Flyer edition) which has never been used. I picked up the 2.4 GHz Tactic "Any-Link" transmitter adapter and Tactic TR624 receiver to use with the 4YF. It has a 1000 ft. range, which is fine for the small models that I build. Has anyone tried this combination?
Re: WTS: Futaba 4YF radio
Sorry man, I think you would be very lucky to get $25 since it is not 2.4ghz. If you were closer, I'd trade you RC flight lessons for control line flight lessons

Re: WTS: Futaba 4YF radio
I know nothing of radios (obviously). Is this one still legal/useable?WingingIt74 wrote:Sorry man, I think you would be very lucky to get $25 since it is not 2.4ghz. If you were closer, I'd trade you RC flight lessons for control line flight lessons

Re: WTS: Futaba 4YF radio
Yes, nothing wrong with it. It is a solid preforming, entry level setup that is still sold new. This is the only 72Mhz radio Futaba lists as current on their website.
It is 72/75 mhz according to the Tower website, with your unit in the 72Mhz on channel 42 (72.730 mhz) It is subject to transmitter quarantine at flying fields, but in many areas even spread spectrum is subject to quarantine.
It has a trainer port, so it should be compatible with computer simulation software, as well as training link to another, compatible transmitter.
The servos might be worth as much or more than the radio RX/TX because of more people wanting 6+ channel computer radios, and spread spectrum with the ability to save settings for multiple aircraft.
Additional Rx are available, new, which is a big plus, if more than one model is used. However the trim settings would need reset between aircraft, instead of the Tx remembering the settings in its computer.
