TD .09 fuel draw.

TD .09 fuel draw.
I am considering a Jr. Ringmaster build in the future and I was wondering how well the TD .09 will draw fuel from a standard vent CL tank setup.
I know the TD .049 has fuel draw issues, but I am not sure if the TD .09 is the same. I would prefer not to use pressure.
If anyone has used a TD .09 on a CL plane I would be happy to hear from you.

Re: TD .09 fuel draw.
Well, It doesn't draw well... not sure how to explain it, but I imagine because of the venturi size it doesn't create much vacuum therfore it has a hard time drawing fuel to the spray bar.
This is why a lot of folks (myself included) will use bladder pressure when running A TD. With regular metal style tanks the lack of draw becomes apparent during hard cornering.
Hope that helps a little. It would be easier to show you in flight than explain it. Maybe someone else can explain it better.

Re: TD .09 fuel draw.
I always use atmospheric ballon tanks with TeeDees and never experienved fuel draw problem as long as the fuel line was fit to the carburetor nipple air-tight, and the needle valve was also sealed with a piece of silicone fuul tube drawn overw the threaded nipple of the carburettor that holds the needle valve...Cribbs74 wrote:Well, It doesn't draw well... not sure how to explain it, but I imagine because of the venturi size it doesn't create much vacuum therfore it has a hard time drawing fuel to the spray bar.

It's a thought. I really enjoy the fill, flip and fly you get with a fixed hard tank though. I guess when the time comes I'll just see what works best.

I suspect the SPI has an impact on fuel draw as well.

You could always try a an R/C type 'silencer' Ron they have a pressure nipple on them.
I had no probs with the 09 r/c in my Old Timer even inverted it just worked.
