1/2A Shoestring

Hey Rusty, I forgot to tell ya'... I have a Shoestring! It was given to me a LONG time ago... Possibly an old Sterling model. It has a 20" wing span.

Yep, that's a Shoestring alright. I never knew there was a 1/2A version. It's the traditional SS color too... Fugly!

I have seen a 1/2A version from Sterling. I thought it was a built up wing. I could be wrong though.

You could, if so inclined, cut out that slab wing and install a simalar shaped built up one. Just extended it a couple inches in span. Bet it would fly ok.

Yea... the wing is rough Ron. I replaced about 3-4" of the inboard tip... (you can see it in the photo) The Aero Gloss "Cub Yellow" dope must have been the orig. color, because it's an exact match! The wing is both; warped/curled "concave" chord-wise and cracked on the outboard side.
