If next weekend is nice, I might just ride the bike down and visit your Skunk Works... if your home, or could meet you in Chester again for lunch
Re: Restoring a Corsair for a friend.
Did you go with a L/H hex-type cam spring-starter on the new crankcase? (5 x 3 L/H prop?)WingingIt74 wrote:Uses a Left Hand 3-blade prop, which turns in the opposite direction as standard.
Re: Restoring a Corsair for a friend.
Roddie, yes I did. He didn't have the original engine, but he had one that was close. I swapped his case for one I had that had the hex plate.
Re: Restoring a Corsair for a friend.
A friend of his gave him the Corsair. He also had one just like it when he was a kid.

Great that Kim has the spinner!!! I thought I might... but no dice. The one I have is a 2-blade R/H. I just dug-out my spinner-bag... to make sure. I think it's for my red Cox Cosmic Wind. I found a smaller (yellow) 4-blade; of which I also have a couple of sm. props for... I have no idea what plane they are for. The props are pretty small... under 4" in dia.
Re: Restoring a Corsair for a friend.
That'll work !! Let me know...gotta go crank up the Night Train so it won't be hateful tomorrow...

Ya, I'll go... either bike or truck... meet up for lunch? I'll call you later.
Re: Restoring a Corsair for a friend.
DAYUM!!!! "bluegill sandwiches"!!! I've never had one! My Uncle used to fish at sunrise when we camped. He'd drag his pram-boat in; having only "one leg" (lost it in Vietnam-on his 19th year as a career marine) He'd catch a couple dozen little perch, and have them fried-up in a pan for breakfast, before any of us woke up!Kim wrote:WHOA YEAH!!!! Bluegill/Crappie fishing with popper on a fly rod is tops in my book! Fried in flour they're a REAL treat!
