I don't know Ron, Kim had a huge tank on that War Dawg and Bird of Time. I love the Bird Of Time sailplane. O have a friend that has one he might sell me. It's rigged for electric glider contests.
Kim- I love those shots of you in the background behind the engine at launch. I can't wait to see the run time on that one.

Re: Gentlemen, start your engines!!!!
Thanks guys ! This has sure started out being a hoot !!!
Looks like my total time for 4 flights with War Dog on the B.O.T. is 15:45. I start the clock at launch, and click it at engine shut-down.
Got the week off with nothing planned, so War Dog ought to get some more action shortly !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Gentlemen, start your engines!!!!
Yo !
I would like to log 4:32 for War Dog today! After four or five attempts, I got one good launch and was able to fly out the fuel. With War Dog's lesser power, Epoxy Bomb doesn't like my kitchen mat launcher, so I'm going to add a Big Otto-type nose gear, and launch it rolling like my PT.
War Dog ate a lot of grass today !!!!

Nice job Kim! And you have the Dawg flying in both C/L and R/C. Sweet!
I've been having troubles with the engine running well. I think its my fuel. I'm also going to put it on a tank like your Dawg/Epoxy Bomb combo. Mine doesn't like to fly inverted. I might also put it on a bladder with a tank that someone gave me with a hole in it for a bladder to hook to.

Re: Gentlemen, start your engines!!!!
Sounds good! As you might be able to tell...I'm not constrained by aesthetics !!!! If I can get it to work...it doesn't matter WHAT it looks like !!! War Dog is actually running good and steady...it's just having trouble dead-lifting that balsa lumber yard it's bolted to !!!!
Four and a half minutes is while for me turn, but hopefully, I'll adapt after some flights ! It was running a bit on the rich side, so with a little more leaning, I might be able to get it to loop onto it's back for some inverted flying !!!

Re: Gentlemen, start your engines!!!!
No kidding, I got stuck with a 6:25 run with an overly lean needle setting on the Shoestring Sunday. Screaming full speed pulling like a flying sandbag. I was sure glad when it finally coughed out. I wasn't dizzy but my shoulder was sore.Kim wrote:...Four and a half minutes is while for me turn, but hopefully, I'll adapt after some flights!...

Re: Gentlemen, start your engines!!!!
Dragged out the War Dog and Epoxy Bomb and logged 6 flights with a total of 15:53. War Dog was running good, and I even got this flying dump truck to pull off some inverted flight and a few sky-eating horizontal eights, complete with grass clipping pullouts!

Good for you. I need to try and burn some circles before my beach vacation. I've got three more afternoons, hopefully one will be thunderstorm free.

Yeah, I had an isolated cell working it's way toward me, but looked like it decided to go south and pound the airport instead. Good Ole Summertime !!!!

I have 3, which one do you want to borrow?
Re: Gentlemen, start your engines!!!!
Since 'Epoxy Bomb' is too sluggish to launch from my Rusty Kitchen Mat Stooge, I just bolted my pin-and-string ground launcher to the top of my shooting table.
A piece of carpet thread runs from the plane, and is looped through that nose gear block with the pin in place. The little rail butts against the plane's wheel and keeps it from vibrating off the table.

Curly of course!
Thanks Kim, I was thinking of a way to utilize my ground stooge. I have a table I can use, but no wheels on my combat planes.

Rusty, I have a feeling it's the other way around
Re: Gentlemen, start your engines!!!!
Scimitar shape prop. Seems like all the old ones used to be like that. The picture might be reversed, or it's a European engine, (I don't know the radials that well) because the L.E. is the wrong way, for how we spin 'em these days. Anyone know for certain?

Careful!!, not radial but rotary. It's a 9 cyl Le Rhône engine.
