Not sure if Jacob was calling for re-enlistment now but I am asking to be added to the cycle when the prop makes it back to this side of the Atlantic

Sure thing, Fred. When it gets back over here we'll show those Old Worlders how to have some fun with it.

It was NEWbury a long time ago. Maybe they just didn't have the heart to change the name to OLDbury. And you gotta keep in mind, anything that's been around more than 200 years old seems old to us New Worlders.

Newbury has been around a lot more than 200 years!

There are many buildings within the town, that are still standing and occupied, that date back to the 17th century. (A trifling 400 - 500 years !)

Newbury was actually founded as Newbury in the 11th century and can be found in the Doomesday book. ( A petty 1,000 - 1,100 years!)

Archeologist have gone back much further and found evidence of habitation from the Mesolthic period. (Stone Age!). (A mere 10,000 - 5,000 years!)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Newbury,_Berkshire

By your reckoning, it should at least be known as "ANCIENTbury"

No. Let's get this thing going. It shouldn't stay in one place but a couple of days, a week at the most so it can be run/flown/photographed over a weekend. People lose interest when it stops moving.

No, John Goddard is sitting on it.
John, if you read this, tell us what your plans for it are. If it's lost or busted, Jacob has a backup, so let us know.

It bounced around last Winter, Spring, and Summer keeping everyone's interest. People were anticipating its next stop with interest. Let's get it back going, no more than one weekend, or two at the most, in any one place. Fly it or photograph it and send it on to the next stop. With a tracking number.

If anyone can't do it when it comes to you, send it on and you can drop down the list for later visit.

Yes, PM Admin to get on the list. When you get on the list, PM the person prior to you with your address.

So, did your sister Pam, a real go-getter who works at the shop, the one that never stops, take you down to the palace to see the Queen? I hope you didn't shout out something obscene! Great picture, that's a treat. Thanks JG.

Where has the Traveling Prop Been? - Page 15 Empty On the Home straight!

Post  Ivanhoe Wed Apr 17, 2013 7:55 am

The travelling prop has now arrived safely in the Emerald Isle!

If the 70mph wind and lashing rain ever stop, I may even be able to do something with it!

Will the next recipient message me their address so that I can send it off after playing with it?

Thanks
