appraisal
mods if this isnt proper let me know and I will remove it.
If there is any interest I am curious as to what all you 049 enthusiasts would realistically pay for this engine if it were in a production state?
mill and lathe with digital readouts (not cnc at the moment)
I have altered the plans to add upgrades. mainly front and rear bearings and some other alterations.
I will be making another engine and using my old one as a exploded view for shows
since I will be working the machines again I have been tossing the idea around of making a few engines and selling them off.
but it does take a considerable amount of time and want to see if it will be worth it.

Re: appraisal
Hey Shnitzl, I would definetely be interested in one of your engines i would make it myself but have no machines at home and have no time at my school to make one.
What are you thinking on price?

Re: appraisal
Schnitzel,
It would help if you could provide weight and power stats. How fast will it spin a prop? Or was it designed as a display piece?
Thanks,
Ron

Re: appraisal
Needs a radial mount and a prop hub! Otherwise it will mount to a plane just like a Testors pipe bomb!

Re: appraisal
all good points.
a radial mount is not a problem, I can make the back crank case cover oversized hex stock with four holes (two top, two bottom)
the output will be threaded, I did not because this one was going into a tether car.
- without the mufflers it weighs less then 222g ( I quickly weighed it in a plastic case and the cox wrench was in it) this figure will likely change + grams
- depending on crank port size it can run 5400 rpm to 9400 rpm (likely vary also)
- about 3.7'' long
