Aftermarket parts for Cox cars? Do they exist? I see a lot of cars on the fleabay that claim to have been restored. They certainly look like they have so, if they in fact are restored they must be aquiring stuff somewhere.

I see repos of the smaller parts for Champions and Specials on Ebay and not much else. They must buy parts cars to cannibalize.
There are two very nice restored cars on Ebay now, one Special 45 and one Champion. There is a guy on a mission two buy these cars and others, The joker has 0 feedback
and walks the bid up in small amounts. I been playing with him, I'll bid 150$ increments and he bids 10$ 16 times till he just over my bid. Then I'll hit him again with 150 and he does it again.
Kinda fun but I won't buy anything till he is gone, unless he suckers me.
You know of any forums for tether cars, I cant seem to find any.

You gotta love those clowns. Maybe if you burn him enough times he will go away.

I was wanting a Baja Bug to play with my son. I am not looking for a show piece just a complete runner. The tires on those things are often no good. My uncle had one way back when and I never got to play with it.

I don't know of any forums, but I am sure they exist.

Sounds like a shill, but might be legit. I hate it when people bid like that. I place a bid, and rarely raise my bid.

There are free snipe servers (although I am not using one currently), the bid is entered into the snipe and placed with minutes of seconds remaining. It prevents the bid from being run up by a shill like that, but the bid is placed in the last minute of an auction.

Of course many legit things can and do go wrong, like many people snipe, your snipe is less than where the bid is, the auction ends early...lots of things can happen.

I've been very successful at manually sniping at t minus 5 seconds in my short list of eBay purchases.

Esnipe Rocks!!! lol

It is fun to do it manually, but once you forget to bid on something you really wanted, you'll wish you'd had esnipe or whatever, i set it for 3-4 seconds depending on what time it is.

Fyi, I think theres at least a couple guys selling re-pop Baja and Dunebuggy tires?

I've seen the shells, just not the tires. Perhaps the sellers are in a lull at the moment.

Pretty well impossible to find original Cox tires that go on the Bug, if thats what your asking, their usually flat or deformed for sale on E-Bay. Most All the buggs that have been restored, like the one you just shipped to me, have aftermarket tires put on the original rims, rechromed body parts with the body buffed to a shiny luster with wax...If you need the aftermarket tire names and size numbers...I will post them up for you...I also have 2 used buggs sitting Ron if your interested a 71' & 73' ...I might restore the 73' I dont know yet but I already have a 71' coming up from you so let me know...One of the bug frames has the chrome dune buggy rims on it...looks pretty cool!! I can also put you in contact with a guy who does these restorations, you seen one first hand, you seemed to like his work... $200 for a restored bug is pretty good Ron, by the time you buy parts, shipping, re-chroming, tires, your time, etc... you might be looking at well over $140 at least. Like I said, " If your looking to do a project, thats completely different and IK do have nice parts if you need them!"
