Tee Dee .15
What type of piston was used in the Tee Dee .15 released in 1961 that was having trouble and replaced by the .15 Special?

Re: Tee Dee .15
It was a ball and socket piston.

Yep, Ian is correct they went from ball socket to a wrist pin like your MKII Lew.
They also went from thin walled cylinder to thick.

Re: Tee Dee .15
There is also another difficulty with the Mk1 vs MkII.
If someone busted a Mk1 then it wouldn't be quite so straight forward to repair it. The Mk1 was 2.45cc where as the MkII became 2.5 cc.
Therefore, both the cylinder and the pistons are not interchangeable with each other.
Similarly, it looks as if the stroke as well as the bore was changed. If so, then the crankshafts will also have a different throw!

Re: Tee Dee .15
Not all early 15 pistons are the same either. Seems like there was a change from the early ones used on the olympic and sportsman to the ones used on the early medallion and TD engines. Lots of changes on the 15 design is a few years time span.
