Cox Engine of The Month
RC Bee prototype?

RC Bee prototype?
I recently acquired what was described as 3 “RC Bee” engines.
The one on the top seems to be what I think an RC Bee should look like and came with original instructions. Here is a link to the instructions for those that want a copy:
http://coxengines.ca/files/049%20RC%20Bee.pdf
The middle one is allegedly a prototype. Does anyone have any info on this? The backplate seems to of the Dragonfly type but it’s orange. I did not know that orange backplates existed.
The bottom one is like a Ranger with an RC Bee muffler.
Any insight from you collectors our there?

Re: RC Bee prototype?
I figured you would pipe in on this, Mudhen, for which I thank you.
The engines were given to a well-known "Cox enthusiast" during one of his visits to the Cox factory with an explanation akin to them being test products, along the lines of what you have described.
Thanks again!
