Thanks Eric, it's a work in progress and maybe a futile exercise.

Maybe I should start a new thread, but I don't want to recreate all those pictures.

There must have been several variations of this Testors model.  Rene's shows two square holes in the belly ban, others one.  Mine shows a couple of elongated "wall hanger" holes.  And, I believe the length of the belly pan differs as Rene's wing tracing does not fit.  So, I'm "winging" it on the wing's form and dimensions.

After I get it right, I will use sanding sealer on both sides then clamp it in the belly pan and let it dry.  Hopefully it should assume the pans camber.  A little weight right in the center should help.

The P-40 will need new landing gear, bell crank, control rod, and elevator horn.

It may be a play on his name. I have no idea.

I think i read somewhere it was his daughter's.

remember many prototypes were a combo balsa/plastic plane. If you look at the photos you can see some pt-19 protos with what looks like balsa fuselages.

We sell this canopy https://coxengines.ca/cox-thunderbolt-canopy.html which we believed to also be for the Testors Cosmic Wind. Have been selling them for many years and never received a complaint, except for today.

The gent that purchased one said that it was too small and the correct one should be about 3.5" long. Did Testors make different variations of the aircraft or are we completely out of line with our description? It's been so long that we can't even reacall where we got the info that it would fit Testors.

Also, if anyone has the correct canopy (and a pilot) for sale, do please let us know so we can help the gent that got the wrong canopy.

Yes, I believe there were two different size Cosmic Winds in Testors. Cox only made the smaller version AFAIK.

Have now read the entire thread and there seems to exist two different sizes and we will amend our listing accordingly.
