According to the "Cox engine museum", thermal hopper in paper box should be older than the one in plastic pack. But there is no date in instruction sheet. Tee Dee, Medallion, Bees, etc instruction sheets have something we can figure out the date of manufacture as "Litho in"

Later found out NIP on ebay.
aungmyatoo's collection - Page 2 Img_2116

I thought, used one $50 so NIP $100 would be reasonable.
I bid 100 on ebay for this NIP and went to sleep.
Woke up in the morning and found out thatI won it with $50.
Sometime ebay is very funny!

"Wire engine stand" Yup, I made them.
These are the raw material, very cheap, only $2 for one reel.

Nice stands, I used to use coat hanger wire to bend bee stands.

Here's a stand I made made out of piano wire for this TD .051
aungmyatoo's collection - Page 2 Td_05110
I should make a bunch more some day.

Nice, piano wire is more sturdy and can use smaller diameter.
Mine is aluminium and very soft, If I use small diameter one it will bend down itself with the weight of engine.

aungmyatoo's collection - Page 2 Empty killer bee .051

Post  aungmyatoo Wed Oct 09, 2013 11:25 am

I just got it from ebay.
Killer Bee .051
correct high compression head, cylinder, piston has 2 grooves indicating .051 piston. Dated May 31st 1995, 18 years old.
box is nice shape, but the box insert had been beaten up. I have to look for .051 insert. Matt only has .049 insert

Many years ago when I started to collect 1/2a engines I picked up some cheese/sausage gift boxes at a swap meet in Wisconsin and made a case to hold them, I quickly ran out of space and ended up with 4 Plano red storage cases that work great. I still use the box for my nicer engines.

That's REALLY nice Mark!!! Definitely heirloom quality! It would be nice to build a large "Hutch" or "Armoire" along those lines... of course; then you'd have to fill it.  Smile

Got a part number on that case? It's really nice and what I've been looking for to store my stuff. Tried to find it on their site and can't seem to.
