My Little Collection
Hello all,
I thought I'd go out to my shop and snap some pics of some of my dusty collection. I have other items such as my N.I.B. 50th Anniversary PITT's, some new Testors .049's another Testors Fastones Drag Van in the original box and a couple airplanes that are packed away. but I will find them and post pics when I get a chance.

Re: My Little Collection
That is a free flight helicopter made by estess to sell some of the surestart engines. They where for sale at very low prices including start acc!. They are unlike the other Cox products, made in china.
Ik got one NIP in my collection. And build one with parts I collected on ebay.
I came in contact with Cox when i bought a Cox skyjumper helicopter in 1996. This one whas a great flyer and very durrable. The orange one does not fly very well (at the moment) and made of much cheaper plastic/paint/decals.
I got some 80s helicopters for sale at my website, which are made by cox self in the USA. In a couple of months there will be NIB skyjumpers (including parachute) as well.

Do I understand correctly, that the big black rotor is not propelled, and only revolves slowly due to the air stream created by the small yellow propeller?

These are what are called "Torque effect" helicopters, the engine is mounted on the black rotor hub, and when the engine is running the torque effect of the (Yellow) prop spins the engine, and the black rotor, in the opposite direction. Due to the difference in mass between the yellow prop and the engine/rotor the rotor rotates slower than the prop, but still generates plenty of lift. The contra-rotating effect also stabilises the helicopter.

Ah, I was wondering what is keeping the engine from spinning the copter fuselage. Now it is clear, thanks!

Re: My Little Collection
I actually got the fuse for .99 cents on Fee Bay and I got the blades, engine mount and tank from Bernie. I think I have $20.00 total in it. I also have a couple of the COX Comanche heli's one used (by me) and one N.I.B. That I got for $10.00 a piece at an old Hobby Shop a couple years back. I've flown both the orange one and the Comanche's and the they both flew pretty much the same except the orange one was slower on the landing.mr_cox wrote:That is a free flight helicopter made by estess to sell some of the surestart engines. Re: My Little Collection
I seen a guy with his young son fly these at our field. Put in several flights and the heli's flew pretty good. Daddy was having a better time then son. Nothing bad about quality time with family.

Daddies have a good excuse for playing with toys, reminds me of the time when I was running a model shop, guy came in asking for a train set for his son, to get some idea what he wanted I asked how old his son was? "He's nearly two" was the reply! Guess who wanted to play with trains!

Hey some kids never grow up when it comes to models.. Right now in front of me is my Sal Tabi A/B spacer fuselage and a 4ch. 2.4 ghz mico-heli sitting on the wing platform. Beside that Cox Venom/ Telco C02 motor and box of Jet-X motors/fuel etc.

I never had much success with Jetex, apart from round-the-pole speed trials that we used to run in our club room, trouble was, after every run we had to open every door and window and run outside!
I built a tiny model for a Jetmaster & augmentor tube, just really wings and tail on the motor, that was so fast we couldn't ever get a speed reading off it, the crude timing device we used couldn't keep up with it, all I know was that it was well over 100 mph! Everyone took hasty cover behind furniture whenever I ran it!

Re: My Little Collection
Jet-X main problem with 50 size was getting fuse out when motor started to hiss. The 150 PAA loader was very easy to use. I built a plane for this motor and it flew very well. My Dad was amazed that this set-up worked so well. Flew it right in front of our home. It turned just right and stayed close. I just made a much improved version and it loks great. Either the new 100Z or 150 fit. Even have full box of fuel from old days kept in dry climate boxed. Plus Powermaster new fuel. I have the Peck 50 size plane ready to fly, plus two Jetco kits.
