found my favorite plane:)
found my favorite plane:)
found the plane i've been hoping to find plans for so i can build one to use 2 cox .049 engines
the DeHaviland Hornet, thanks outerzone.co.uk for the plans
here they are
http://www.outerzone.co.uk/planfiles/2876/DH_Hornet.pdf
i was just thinking that this is a race plane or at least to me it looks really fast, so what about if i put 2 suped up reed valve engines like i mentioned in another thread that i started "mitch's super .049 sill it work?"
so what do you guys think, plans call for 2, geared .05 elec. motors
i think this plane is just plane sexy, to put it in simple terms

Re: found my favorite plane:)
Mitch,
It's no pylon racer but, the real one was quite a performer. The wingspan at 58" may be pushing it for two .049's. However, it may work.
Are you going to see this one through?

Re: found my favorite plane:)
i might see this one through, i looked at the AUW and it says 6-6.5lbs so maybe 2 thunder tiger gp 07 engines
i was thinking of the DeHavilland 88, although this does look sweet to
ill have to look at the plans a little more to get a full understanding on how this airplane is built looks simple, but looks can be deceiving

The DH Hornet was a development of the Mosquito, it was a military fighter, not a racing plane

Outerzone have two or three versions, try...
http://www.outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=1840 33" span rubber powered, but could easily be converted
or
http://www.outerzone.co.uk/plan_details.asp?ID=2764 Control Line, but possible to convert
You are aware what a handfull this would be as an R/C model??

Looks like an A6 Intruder.
Anyone read all or any of the Jake Grafton novels by Stephen Coonts? Flight of the intruder was the first.
