what did it origonally come with?
hi, i have a golden been engine that has a #6 cylinder installed, and with the piston inside it has no spi. Is this the correct cylinder for this engine? and is the #6 cylinder supposed to have spi or not
thanks
thanks

The #6 is not supposed to have SPI. It is often used on engines that have a muffler. The QZ and QRC used the #6 cylinder.

Well, it doesn't need a muffler to work right but really any .049 muffler will do. Search eBay and or post a wanted ad on here.

cool, i would like to have a muffler because my uncle and my dad, little brother fly ectectrics all the time in a park across the street from me. I basically would like one just so i dont upset the neighbors to much when flying a nitro powered plane

The golden bee was simply a Babe Bee fitted with a stunt tank, so a #2 product cylinder would be original (For the older models, anyway - I think later ones might have used a #1)

Re: what did it origonally come with?
There was an old mag article on here a while back
That suggested the GB was a bit 'warmer' performance
Wise than the BB.
The 049 mufflers don't make that much difference
Really (IMO) just taking the high pitch down a bit.

I have an original #1, but it's burred. (it might destroy your piston and has no compression) Unusable.
You can have it if you want it.

Re: what did it origonally come with?
Don't switch from a dual bypass to a single bypass, that would be a downgrade in power. A #2 is a dog compared to a #6.mitchg95 wrote:Puffie40 wrote:The golden bee was simply a Babe Bee fitted with a stunt tank, so a #2 product cylinder would be original (For the older models, anyway - I think later ones might have used a #1)

I recall seeing some RPM figures that compared the BB to the GB, and it looked like a ~2000RPM difference. That may be because of the larger venturi in the stunt tank.

Hello, My Golden Bee has a #2 cylinder on it. I have a engine that came on a Cox model that I had back in the 1980s, it is all silver and has a muffler. That engine has a #6 cylinder on it.

Are you sure?
Curious because I've never seen an all silver (aluminum) Cox engine. Even my Golden Bee has a black steel #2 cylinder.

The cylinder is black, the aluminum parts are un-anodized. I'll see if I can find a picture of it. It has one of those tanks with the cross vent tubes and a copper-brass colored backplate.
