Cox Engine of The Month
Some of my new engines

Some of my new engines
I haven't had much time to get these beauties running, but they are good to go.
Built this one from parts I had.
Medallion .09 I got at the swap meet for $10 and it came with the free "Rat Bee"
Just got this one today, bought on eBay. Has the throttle ring w/ spring, silver spinner (never seen one) and a counter clockwise prop w/ reverse spring. I'm not sure what this engine would have been on. Seems odd and very interesting.

Re: Some of my new engines
That red backplate has a fine thread NV. I'd consider that a bonus.

wow, even more of an odd ball. Why would you run a counter clockwise prop?

Pusher config, the only pusher proddy engine I know of is a curtiss. Maybe it was a home build although that postage stamp is not easy to mount without a golderg standoff

No, It's not a pusher prop, that would be a reverse pitch running clockwise. This is a tractor engine the opposite direction, counter-closkwise.

Control line throttle return spring
Re: Some of my new engines
I can't remember exactly, but I know we have talked about it here before. I think it's controlled with a third line, maybe for landing. Maybe for carrier landing. Maybe if you get too dizzy and wuss out. I'll try to look that topic up.MMT wrote:What does the throttle ring and spring do on the one engine shown? I haven't seen this before.

Yeah, a third line to the handle. Used with the "U-Reely" handle. Just a general throttle control.
