Cox Engine of The Month
My first PT-19

My first PT-19
Well almost as its incomplete. I never had one but have flown a few before. I was at recent contest and Larry Renger had somwe items for sale. I bought a PT-19 fuselage/rudder/stab and thats it. It has seperate tank so I guess it had a surestart type engine. Need to find a wing and L/G. I was a vendor for Cox one weekend and we taught kids how to fly these. Stab has been repaired and maybe find a good one. PT-19 did fly decent for what they were.

Re: My first PT-19
I have a wing for a PT-19 that warped badly when I left it in the car one Summer. I still flew it and it actually flew fine. I bought a good wing on eBay for $20 bucks to replace it. You may be able to straighten it with heat, but it'll fly till you find a better one. Do you want it? I'll be glad to send it to you.

Re: My first PT-19
Here is one like my first PT-19, I never got to fly it though would love to find one.
Re: My first PT-19
Travis, that appears to be one of the early ones that used a Babe Bee for power. NICE!
Dan, someone mentioned awhile back about making a balsa PT-19. Here's your chance...starting with the wing outline from Rusty's warped wing. Good at least until you can replace it. :-)
I never had a PT-19, but always liked its looks.

Black Hawk Models had two versions of the PT-19. One profile and one full. Unfortunatley their site is down. Not sure why. You can still call them.

I like the full fuselage better, but it needs a wider wing at the root.
PT-19
Black hawk stuff is fine but not for me. What I have is good fuselage/rudder. Fuse has bellcrank and good tank. Stab is ratty and repaired but useable. I have a Frank Bowman built Surestart engine. L/G can be made up easy. Bulkhead needs to be made. Could use a TD but not needed. Fuselage has Pilots also and windscreen

Re: My first PT-19
The discussion I was referring to was to replicate a Cox PT-19 in balsa.
