Cox Engine of The Month
Need an engine tester
Need an engine tester
Is there someone located in the USA with strong Cox engine experience that would be willing to receive a Babe Bee engine (our production) from a customer and test-run it?
Re: Need an engine tester
haha hah.
you are asking a bunch of starving men if they would like a gourmet dinner
I am surprised the sharks have not lined up already!!!
There are probably 20 guys on the forum better than me at testing.
what, specifically do you need done, and what kind of metrics and reporting would you like to have after?

Just if the engine runs or not, as a Babe Bee should ... period.

Thanks Andras but the customer is in the USA. If I am going to have the engine sent out of country, I might as well get it sent to myself
Re: Need an engine tester
Bernie ,I can help you with that , got some rain coming in but should bee able to work that in by the time it gets here , is the S&H included ? I have most anything it would need if needed .

Thanks and please email me at "support@coxengines.com" with your complete address. The brand new engine will be shipped to you, and you get to keep it whether it runs or not. I am just interested in whether it runs or not and, if it does not, what is wrong with it.

Sort of I guess...
He is an experienced Cox modeler he says but can't get the engine to run. It is one that I personally assembled as replacement for one previously sent that he also could not get to run (that one had an inverse tapered cylinder, so he was correct).
He also has three of our "diesel" engines that he can't get to run; so now I am just curious to hear what, if anything, is wrong with the replacement Babe Bee. I mean we sell "Bee" engines daily and I have assembled so many that I can assemble them in my sleep lol. But perhaps I'm losing my touch ... ?

Thanks got it and have replied
Re: Need an engine tester
Sorry, don't have PM anywhere as it's not really suited for business purposes.
That aside, I don't get the "Gmail" thing. You sent a message coming from "...twc.com". Is that an email address that you check?

Has this customer sourced any other Cox glow engines from "Cox International" which run fine?

Not that I am aware of but he said that he has plenty of Cox engines that run, so I do believe him.
He gets a full refund and the tester gets a free engine Just want to know if there is suddenly something wrong with one or more of our parts.

If you have parts that you suspect are defective but are unsure, I would be happy to carry out some tests. I am in Canada.

The final hone on a cylinder is usually done completely straight or, as in some Cox years, tapered at the top. An inverse-tapered cylinder is when the taper is at the bottom. To be clear, we are talking 2-3 microns here.

Thanks but "getback" already volunteered for this.
That aside, if I had to send the engine back to Canada, I would simply have it sent my office here.
