Henry O. Studley Tool Cabinet

Re: Henry O. Studley Tool Cabinet
That is a fitting tool cabinet for a piano maker and a thing of beauty. I would love to have the planes and chisels. I see a Yankee Screwdriver, they were still in use when I started my apprenticeship in 1970 but try to find one now. The craftsman that would have used those tools no longer exists, sad. One job I had many years ago was to dissemble a rather large mens antique armoire to move it. It was assembled with no nails or screws, held together with hardwood dowels. It came apart like a jigsaw puzzle, the owner was freakin out cause it was expensive. LOL
How many times have I heard "we ain't building no piano" from the boss I can't count. My answer was usually "up yours" or something similar. LOL I would like to have that set.
Today OP is a real cool guy!!

The "Monkey" wrench (upper left hand corner) and the hammers directly above it got my attention. I wonder what the thing weighed.

Nice Roddie, The user of those kinds of hand tools really had to know how to maintain them as well, Particularly the cutting tools had to be tuned and extremely sharp working with those kinds of hardwoods…

my stationary engineers use these regularly
If I was in the market, I would buy a vintage one on eBay, and refurb it,
but they can be bought new:

I still have a Yankee in my tool box. I use it for slotted screws which are rarely used but I do come across them every now and then. We had a Lexus dealership that was pretty high end hardware which everything was slotted. Those screws should've been outlawed. They're horrible.

I modified the straight bit for spoke nipples. We had a Lexus dealership that was pretty high end hardware which everything was slotted. Those screws should've been outlawed. They're horrible.
