Display cabinet - For free take
So this picture ad shows up on my son's wife's Facebook page marked down from $10 to free and it's only a few miles away. Checked it out, scroungy and heavy, to heavy for me to move so I offered the seller $50 if she would deliver it. Free cost me fifty bucks, but worth it. This one is quality, built back when things were made to last. Glass not Plexiglas, built in lighting, bottom storage with locks, and a wood frame around the glass.
Lot's of restoration work to do, but according to the decals the provenance echo's a lot of the thinking here. Too bad, I'm scraping them off...…….
Even came with a mascot similar to the cereal box guy that came with my Aurora Bird dog.

Nice cabinet! Whatcha gonna put in it
Just kidding That’ll take a few evenings at eBay to fill!
Looks like it has been in a Harley shop, with the S&S, Andrews, West Coast Choppers and other stickers (and the Visa/MC obviously, that stuff is expensive!).

That’s gonna be a real nice addition to your collectible displays! A little stain, wood polish and you’re good to go! I did not see them in the pictures, but are the clear glass shelves included? If not some nice mirror glass will fit in nicely!
I’d scrape off all the stickers except the Terrorist Hunting Permit!

I'll fill it up pretty fast Kari with stuff on hand. I figure I can get about 12 model airplanes and cars in there.
I remember years ago when Mark Boesen posted a picture of his display cabinet very similar to this one. Impressed me . Wanted one ever since for my models. Of course Marks models were pristine originals, won't see that from me as mine are mostly fixer uppers.
I did spend the morning cleaning it up. Got two layers off, more to go, then attempt some repairs. Motorheads that worry about millimeters in motorcycle engines using three inch screws in this cabinet when an inch will do. Resulted in blisters of the maple veneer. All coming out, glued pegs and maple plastic wood mitigating the damage.
I did save the decals, vinyl they peeled right off.

I'd go complete low voltage compact LED lighting conversion on it. (Dollar Tree occasionally runs special shipments on LED desk lamps that run off wall warts that might be good to hack a lighting system out of)

That is a good case. I passed on one of those a decade ago due to no place for it. I used that type in retail too.
The veneer can be removed and fixed with a similar matching piece. Heat will debond it, right about steam iron temperatures. It is fiddly and will need wedged up and something drawn under it to make it stay up instead of rebonding... then you need to find a matching piece and glue it back.
Going over the whole front with new veneer will look good but there will be a step. "Bondo" and paint is another choice.

While it looks good, and even better since cleaning it up, I cannot wait to see the finished filled up product!
