The 2023 Breezy Hill "Frozen Finger Fun-Fly"

The 2023 Breezy Hill "Frozen Finger Fun-Fly"
The Breezy Hill Flyers once again held their "Frozen Finger Fun-Fly" on Saturday, January 7th.
We got away with some great flying this time, thanks to temperatures in the high 40's, and a reasonable east wind that mostly didn't mess with us.
The Flyers had closed in the north end of our pavilion, and with three heaters flame-belching away, it was pretty comfy inside. There was the standard wonderful chili and a spread of accessories that turned one of the charging benches into a smorgasbord.
There was pretty steady flying from beginning to end. We had about six planes, including a couple drones buzzing around. My 0.S. .25 powered Butterfly motorglider and President Ronnie's Super Tigre .46 Sig Fazer were the only castor slingers of the bunch, and I think we held a pretty good line among the electron herders.
Safety Officer Billy DID have a conflict with an airplane-eating tree while giving instruction with his venerable Sport Cub. While waiting just a smidge too long to take control of his Cub, the little plane managed to punch into a tree on the west side of the field...Billy called it, "A Tree-Point Landing". Billy loves puns.
The plane was way up in the tree, and was held ransom overnight, 'till Billy found it laying on the forest floor the next morning. It was a little busted up, but he went right to work, bringing it back to its former working plane glory.
Our newest member, Stephanie spent some time with a young man, letting him put some flying time on her DJI Mini 2 Drone, and he had a big time.
Following is a short photo album, there's a video being crunched that I'll post here once finished.
All told, a Great Time with Great Folks!
Doris and grandson Justin.
Vice President Brian lays down an ultra-smooth touch and go with his Ultra Stick.

Hi Kim,
I hope I have thanked you for all your posts.
If not, I will do now...
Wow.

The papier/mache cowl is a work of art.
The smiles on kids of all ages,
Surpass all that...
Respect,
Take care,
Have fun,
Dave

Thank You Dave!
Appreciate your note! It's fun doing this stuff, but also like to know I'm not too boring in passing it on!

PS @Kim I always greatly enjoy your photo essays. They were one of the first things on CEF that I really enjoyed and commented to that effect back 3 or so years ago, and I continue to enjoy the photo essays. Rest assured, the work and effort to create them is appreciated and enjoyed.
thanks.

LOL!!! I'm not sure that is a good thing or not. Some of our TV is pretty sketchy!
OTOH, I certainly second your comments on Kim's photo essays. They are always a highlight when he posts them.

Thank you for the kind comments guys...it IS appreciated!
And now, just to show that there's MUCH talent than model airplane flying in this bunch I hang out with:
"The Highlight of Our Monthly Club Meeting:
Ladies and Gentlemen, may I present Breezy Hill's Own Traveling Troubadour, Mr. Billy Lang!"

Music and a story, hooray for Billy. Reminds me of Hank Locklin in looks and manner.
More favorite Hanks...............Hank Snow, and the legendary Hank Williams.

And...since my video editing program is in a good mood, and cooperating, I'm cranking footage while I can:
"Well, for some mysterious reason, my editing program is completely cooperating with me today, so I'm making hay while the sun shines.
This video, and probably the one that follows, are more "people oriented" than solid airplane stuff, which I think is pretty cool since Friends are the fuel that keeps this whole deal going."
