Re: Re: the Fatal Flaw engine
Another modification that I wanted to complete before installing it I wanted a more efficient exhaust system than just direct It's a pretty noisy engine without a muffler and it nead a tuned pipe To work Properly next i tink of a Carburetor or maybe just a modified spray bar
I already have a plane to install it which should do the job m'y os .15
ain't powerful enough and To Heavy

Re: Re: the Fatal Flaw engine
I worked on my plane to install the engine The supor is really all crooked Nothing aligned the OS engine must have been very badly placed It's hard to remember it's one of my first conversions a miracle that this plane survived all this time With a little work it should be fine.
This is how i want To instal the engine a little Angled to the side To help for the big pipe Which will be fixed above the wing I have much to do

Re: Re: the Fatal Flaw engine
Part two and three that was just a little test It's still cold here the engine is in the break-in period runing ritch and plug was loose To help me start wit starter The conclusion is that I managed to build a replacement cylinder for the .15 engines. The spray bar isn't perfect, but hey, it works, that's all that matters. And even Not having the right propellers I was still able to draw conclusions I could see that it would be capable of much more rpm with a good new propeller I am satisfied with the result of the spray bar I manage to control the engine much better than I had imagined I will probably install a carburetor but on a tee dee engine now I'm looking for engines that are too worn out To run in a plane To revive them I still have a lot of tests to do before offering A parts replacement solution for .15 cox engine Hope no one will get ahead of me I would like to produce them so that no one steals the idea from me If I have had the necessary means, we would already have several parts for our small engines. I would really like to do this

Re: Re: the Fatal Flaw engine
Congratulations David, a great home-made engine revamping performance!
I did not follow the details, I assume the cylinder and its liner were borrowed from another engine, and you have modified to match the piston of the .15 Medallion?
I see that spring is still chilli in your area in Canada!!! ..I would suggest you preheat the cylinder with a hairdryer before you start it, the wear on a newly coupled cylinder and piston may be excessive if the break-in of the engine starts with low metal temperature, especially if there is a steel and aluminum combination of the moving components in contact.??
I am sure it will not be easy for anyone to copy your engine re-make, the trophy remains yours!!!

That looks Cold out there , Maybe leave the glow igniter on for a bit to warm it up after starting as it seems to cut off after removal. Got a jump on things more good luck to you !
